Check Engine Light, OBDII code P2178
Hi All,
New member here, 2007 V50, FWD, T5, 44k miles. Just figured I'd post some info as an FYI since I was on here earlier looking for info on this code. Recently our check engine light had come on intermittently, and then more frequently. I had an OBDII reader, used it and it came back with P2178 "Too Rich Off Idle, Bank 1" (this is from memory, but approx the error text). I was too busy at work/home to try and troubleshoot it further, so had Volvo look at it. Turns out it was the fuel pressure sensor. The tech's write-up said the pressure was reading high at 75psi rather than 50psi, which is spec. He replaced the pressure sensor, fuel pressure back to 48psi. Parts and labor was $350.
