Which coolant did they put in?
Any decent Green coolant works fine in these cars.

backyard hobos? if thats what they are, why in the world did you trust them to repair your volvo? also, you say the "front end was replaced" just how much of the car was infact replaced, the reason I state this is in the event of a hard impact, indirect damage can rear its ugly head a few days or even weeks after the car is "fixed", hard front hits can and do cause damage back to the firewall area , and lots of plastic parts in these areas can and will crack or brake, having said this, , I am master certified in mercedes benz collision, and I also see situations like yours happen all the time, rarelythe file is fully closed on a hard hit car, hope this helps, best regards, rotgut.
