Default coolant low warning

Im brand new to this website. I have an 01 s80 t6 that has had problem after problem after problem. I now have a coolant low warning. I just had a check engine light for the cam shaft timing being off or something like that. I know my mechanic just replaced a plastic panel which it looked like the belts were rubbing through. He said that the panel was interfering with the sensors wires. Now he says that there is an air bubble in the coolant and it will go away on its own. Is this true or is it another issue? Is it a sensor or a short or some wiring??? please help before I throw more money into this car.

1. Look at the coolant tank and see where the level is at. If it is low fill it up some with what Volvo reccomends.

2. If that doesn't make the light go away it might be that the sensor has been knocked around which would need to be fixed for the light to go off.

Do you smell anything sweet at all?

The coolant is full. Ive been driving all week and the light has not gone away, which leads me to believe my mechanic was wrong... I also read about somebody with an s60 on volvo forums who's turbo charger died because the coolant was leaking into the turbo, although i dont think my level has gone down at all so maybe there is no leak. Im thinking its probably a sensor issue? let me know if u have any more feedback. Im taking the car into the mechanic to have him look it over again. My sister has a taurus and her coolant light came on and then her radiator blew up. Im just looking to avoid any larger issues if possible. A sensor, I think I can live with. Thanks for you previous feed back.
