cutting brake rotors, question for you Tech
Ok, i have an on car brake lathe and I have some pulsation so I am going to turn my rotors. I have the specs for runout and min. thickness and I will check my runoutbefore I do it. But I have read on here that you shouldn 't turn the rotors. Has anyone actually turned the rotors and witnessed the results, or is this just a way for the dealer to get more money and require new rotors?
Don't waste you time cutting them. They are already warped. If you cut them they lose density and will not handle the heat as well an will probablly warp again very soon.
Completely off topic, but yesterday was the first time i really had to do do a quick response emergency braking situation and the s80, and WOW those brakes hold up well.. I felt the ABS pulsing away at my foot but sure enough I stopped before smashing the back of the woman's Accord. Feels good to know I have such a good car helping keep me safe..
do you know if the rotors on the car right now are OEM or aftermarket?

I guess I will go ahead and turn them. It won't cost anything if Ido it and i will get to witness the outcome. At the worse I will have to buy rotors that iprobably willhave to buy anyway.
I will post the outcome good or bad for everybody.

yeah the s80 has hella strong brakes. Isnt the s80 have a Overdrive thing where in strong cases of pressing the brakes it will put even more power the brakes?
