The 99's are the Worse POS's out there!!!
The 00 is a little better but still has alot of problems.

Well that does not sound promising. I thought volvo's were supposed to be great cars, What went wrong man!

Well the 99 was the first year. All before then the first years were brought out over seas.
So we never saw them like that. Well the 99 S80 the U.S. got them first.

I have a 99 Volvo S80 2.9 with 153k miles on it. I bought it in 2004 with 25k on it. Trust me, I know of all the horror stories with this year and model. But, knock on wood, this has been an absolutely fantastic car with minimal repairs. I plan on driving it another 100k miles (that's my goal). I honestly think with the early s80s that it really just depends on the luck of the draw. I think I lucked out because I bought it with such low mileage and I have made sure to do all of the propert maintenance to it since.
