Question false warning light on dash??

On my 2000 S80, the yellow warning light came on and the trip computer screen read "Bulb failureosition light" The left front side marker light was out and I went to Checkers and replaced it with the Sylvania 2821(13.5V,3W) . According to the store database, this is supposed to be the correct part. Since this was sold in pairs, I went ahead and replaced the right side as well. Now all the lights in and around the car are in good working order. But that yellow warning light and message on the computer screen is still there. I disconnected the neg. battery cable for a few minutes and it won't work. Why would the warning light and message remain if all the lights are working? Is there any way to fix this? Its no big deal as long as I have the car, but if I decide to sell, I would like to fix this.

Do you have 4 parking lights total in the rear of the car?

If the warning is still displayed, there is a bulb fault somewhere, most often as Tech mentions, it's one of the bulbs in the taillights.

It did turn out to be the back tail light. Looking from the outside, you can't tell if the bulb is out. But when I removed the light panel from the inside trunk, I found the burnt out bulb. After replacing that bulb, everything is back to normal. Thanks

after replacing one of the rear license plate bulbs, the warning light still does not go away and all my lights work! Is there a reset button somewhere?

My apologies to Tech, after further checking there are 2 tail light bulbs per side, and yes, one was burnt out on each side, so I thought the taillights were normally a single bulb. Duh, I should have checked the manual. Man this car eats bulbs.

^ thats cause the idiots at volvo thought its safer to have all the lights on ALL THE TIME to simulate day time running lights

on any other non-scizzo car only the headlights come on at half power.. and no thanks im not going to the dealer to pay them to "delete" daytime running lights from the computer,,,,so stupid...
