Glove Box handle/latch damaged...
Hi everyone,..
So one of my friends took a ride in my pasenger seat a few days ago and when I wasnt in the car they tried to open the glove box... I normally keep it locked because thats where i store my radar detector and gps etc, so she kept pulling on it and actually managed to somehow mess up the handle/latch that holds it closed..
Basically, the handle is not broken, but it feels a lot looser with almost no tension.. As a result, it cannot hold the glove box closed, so unless i lock the glove with the key, it just hangs open.. What happens now is I want something out of the glove, but I cant get to it cause the car is running with the key in the ignition and I need the same key to unlock/open the glove..
Do you have any ideas how this can be fixed?

You're going to need to take it apart, my guess is a pin is bent and may be able to be bent back.
I'd first take the glove box out of the car and then take the inside panel off and take a look inside. There is nothing you're going to be able to fix without taking it apart.
If something is broken inside and cannot be fixed, you'll need to determine if it is the handle or latch that is broken, both can be replaced seperate from each other.
