Default Heater won’t shut off

First let me say I’m an elderly stubborn person who doesn’t want to spend 500 to fix this problem.
My heat is stuck on and won’t go off when I twist the control ****. I recently had to jump my car so I’ve read that might have caused the CCM to need to be replaced. (Or possibly just that little piece of it?).
Is that where I should start? Or is there a fuse for it?
Its a 2005 S80.
Be nice to me, pretend I’m your mama!!!

Hot water flows through the heater core all the time. Blend doors route air through or around the heater core as needed. So blend door/s are not working properly or the CCM is sending the wrong signal - or the CCM is getting a wrong signal.

An easy test is to clamp off one of the heater hoses, stopping the flow of hot water to see if you can get cold air (I'm guessing that's what is desired) I have seen clamped off heater hoses stay that way - until the next season when heat is needed. Or I have seen manual heater shut off valve installed under hoods also.

There might be something relatively easy - using VIDA - there might be a calibration available to solve your heat problem.

sometimes the rod from the controller motor to the door can also pop off - if you are not seeing an fault code then this is something to look for.
