Hey TEch I forgot to tell that the car I was driving it and drive okay until the check engine light started going off and on and driveslowly service engine the it doesn't pass from 4,000RPM on high way did I finish Wrecking the engine I mean thecar starts but white smoke its coming from the exhaust and misfiring as well, and another question if I repair the engine all of this is gonna dissapppear all of the messages and check engine light because volvo told me that the problem is mechanical non electrical thankas tech will appreciate it

Hey tech what do you think of transplanting another engine than the original my volvo has I mean if it possible that another volvo engine would fit my S80, like a S60 or S70 or another brand of engine like ford engines something like that??????????????

I haven't read through all of the posts on this topic but on my S80 I asked my dealer what the black smoke was when I accelerated hard and they said it was a normal carbon discharge that is common with the S80 especially with the t6 model

 

Is not normal when the mixture is very very rich on the car... When the MAF gone bad it sends a lot of gas to the engine causing to burn a lot of fuel and black somke coming from the exhaust... Sou for me is not nomal that black smoke from the back of my car like if itwas a Mack Truck or a diesel engine that is not normal on an S80
