Default Help- Billowing smoke out exhaust!

So my in-laws just bought a 2000 s80 t6 with the 2.8 twin turbo. It ran ok but had a slight oil leak from the rear-passenger side of the engine. Nothing major, just started dripping when the vehicle is off. I could smell some burning oil but it seemed like the drip was landing on the exhaust or turbo in that back corner where the drip was. So... it was decided that I should remove the 'valve cover' that turned out to be the camshaft cover to solve the oil leak. My mistake. I pulled it off, cleaned everything and re-assembled. It seemed like everything went back together properly except that now the car billows smoke out of the exhaust and from under the hood when it's running. I mean a lot. I pulled the plastic cover off the top and checked the plugs(they're new) and only one had any oil on it at all. What the hell would cause this to happen suddenly? I suspect the front cam seal isn't seated properly but I just can't see how it could cause this massive cloud of smoke! It didn't smoke out of the exhaust when it was parked for service after a good 20 mile drive. The next thing in my sights is the pcv service and the oil drain box or flame box or whatever it's called. I'm a decent mechanic, not experienced with volvo but able to learn. Don't bother with the 'take it to a volvo dealer', they can't afford it and I wouldn't be in the forums otherwise. Looking for some real-world knowledge of what could cause this thing to turn into a smoke-machine like that. Any ideas?

btw, I checked the spark plug wells and there's no oil leakage, the plugs looked clean.

I'm in the same boat. I just picked up an S80 yesterday with a "low coolant problem" I think I may have bought a bad turbo. I drove it 20 miles bringing it home without any problems. Started it a couple of times to idle to try to detect leak. Drove it around the block and now its smoking. I get no steam around the engine.

I have the same issue. I'm taking my turbo out and tryin a rebuild kit fix on it and new gasket n O ring. Also noticedoil has been leaking from my driver side turbo. Hope someone gives me a tip or two. I'll take pictures and post when I get my parts.
