Default Just bought a 2000 S80

I just got a great deal on a 2000 S80 with 74,000 miles. I paid $7 K because members of my family have been buying from this particular Volvo dealer for decades. This is my first Volvo, though, so I wanted to come here for advice from fellow Volvo drivers. I picked up the car yesterday and wanted to bring it home and drive it to see if there were any problems. Sure enough (and not unexpectedly), the ABS brake light came on and there was a problem with the front suspension. I am not worried though because my family has been very loyal to this dealer and they wouldn't rip me off (as evident by the great deal). They wanted me to bring it in anyway today to give it a look-over before I discovered the problems, so now they are taking care of everything. Anyway I just wanted to see if there were any adivice/tips that any of you had.

Welcome to the forum Phillyfan.

You have a nice ride that will treat you well for some time.
It does have some recalls. If it starts to run rough, make sure you get the ETM recall done. There is also a recall on the upper control arms. check this thread out.

All in all, I have been satisfied with mine.

Thanks a lot! I was wondering about the recalls. Although the previous owner apparently took immaculate shape of the car and was a family member of the head of sales at the Volvo dealer I bought it from. I would think he would've had any recalls taken care of but I will check that thread out and then take a closer look at the service history.
