Default HU-801 Radio

I just purchased a 99 S80 T6 with 73000 miles in immaculate shape. The only problem with the car is the radio...the CD player doesn't take in the CDs. Besides ebay, doesn't anyone know where I can get a fully functional HU-801 radio relatively cheap?

Thanks,
Gonzo

I don't know of any place off hand. But when you install a new radio installed you will need to have software downloaded or the steering wheel controls will not work. The radio itself might not work either. There is also a diffrent chasis range for diffrent part numbers for the radios.

Your best bet would be to go after market and loose the controls on the wheel.

Thanks for the info. I'm starting to realize that nothing is simple with these cars!

Yes it is kind of a pain but almost all cars are that way now a days.

Tech,

Does Volvo produce a CD/MP3 player that is a direct replacement to the aforementioned radio?

Thanks,
Gonzo

Wayne,

After doing a Google search, there is place in Cocoa, Florida that may provide the same type of service that you alluded to. I'll give 'em a call and see what they can do. Thanks for the advice.
