keeyless entry remote

Default keeyless entry remote

just a quick queston, is it possible to replace the battery and not lose any of the codes for the remote?

I replaced the battery in my 2005 S40 and it no loger works. I please the old battery back in, whichc did work only weak, and that does not work. Must I have this reprogramed?

I would check with the Dealer on that one. They shouldn't loose the program.

I figured out the probelm last evening. The verticle contact which touches the outer ring of the battery was bent down and wasn't making contact with the battery. It was flat to the printed circuit board. I thought it was to be that way. My mistake. I realized that something was wrong what I rigged up the battery to make the correct contact and the remote worked fine. So I bent the positive contact vertical again. Now being very weak, I am concerned that this may break. I will use a small amount of electrical solder this evening on the base of the positive contact to support this. Should work.
