Default Mass airflow sensor

My Volvo S80 T6 turbo has been idling low for the past couple months, shaking and the check engine light blinks when I get up to speed. I have changed the spark plugs, but now am thinking it could be the mass airflow sensor.. any thoughts? Has anyone changed/cleaned theirs and could let me know where its at and what to look for if needing replaced?

You should really consider going to a local auto parts store and having them check your system with their scan tool If you do have one of your own. It will cost you nothing and should give a better idea of what you may need to repair or replace. I am not familiar with the layout of your vehicle. But, the MAF should be located inline with your air cleaner box leading towards your turbo unit. More than likely made by Bosch. Very hard to miss. A simple way to know what it looks like would be to do a parts search at a reliable parts site such as IPD. There are multiple areas that could cause the symptoms you describe. Please state the cars year model and mileage as this will help anyone that may offer advise to better help you trouble shoot your problems. I am a newbie here myself and a newbie Volvo owner, But I try my best to help anyone I can. This is a great site with much knowledge to share. Patience and a lot of reading is the key to learning here. RSPI has great videos that covers many repair and maintenance items for Volvos. Check them out on you tube.

Did you check your coils to see if they are cracked under the boots? That's one of the most common problem that causes misfires.

I checked the coils wilst changing the spark plugs (all 6 mind you...) The low idle seems to be because of the ETM, and cleaning that should do the trick. Went to do it myself the other day and it seemed it would have been an entire days' job doing it myself since it IS a volvo... Will update when complete. Thanks all for the replies and help!
