Default In the middle of timing belt change

I'm in the middle of doing the timing belt but don't want to continue until I'm 100% sure about something. I cannot see the crankshaft mark. I've gone round and round and round and I just don't see it. Will I be taking a chance removing the belt when just the camshaft marks are lined up? Also do they make volvo stamped belts still? Just curious if this is the original belt.

Did you remove the lower serpentine pulley?
If not then the mark will be really hard to see.

Yes if it is the OEM belt it should say Volvo.

Sorry to be so late responding. I recommend that you read http://volvospeed.com/Repair/s40_timing_belt.html, it's an S40 but real similar. Also, you might read the posts where I have had so much trouble with timing this engine. You might have already seen and read them, but if not, here is the link: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index...;#entry1393157
