I have purchased a pair of new aftermarket struts for the trunk on my 2004 Volvo S80. They are supposed to be 264mm long, but they appear to be longer than the original ones and I'm not able to get them mounted. Is there a trick to mount them or are they simply too long? The image below shows how they look when they are attached to one of the ball joints while I'm trying to get them over the second joint.
Are my new trunk struts too long?
