Hi everyone,
Tomorrow morning I'm going to look at an 2007 S80 V8 with 103k. The pictures show the car is in good condition and the car has been regularly serviced.
I want to know what I should be looking out for? What are the weak points on this car?
Also, what is your experience with gas mileage? Do you get 23 mpg highway/more/less?

Any advice for a potential first time Volvo owner? I live in Brooklyn NY and the car is in CT, before I make the drive out I want to know what I'm getting into.

I went to look at the car and the transmission has issues. When I let off the gas and then put my foot back on it kicks. I didn't buy the car but if the price is good enough to justify it and I get some positive feedback on here I'll jump on it.

Do you think the tranny needs to be rebuilt or could it be something else like a valve body or a software issue?

 

Also, this transmission (AWTF-80 SC) seems to have been used in many different applications, if I were to buy a used transmission can the donor car be any of the others (like a Ford Fusion)?

 

I've owned my 2007 for 5 years and have 124,000 on it. Have had no issues with it at all. I get 25-27 hwy and 21 or so city.
If you do your own maintenance you can save big $. Any repairs can be very costly! This is my second S80, first was a 2000. I had almost 180,000 on it and gave it to my son when I bought the 07.
