Default Need Advise Tech or anyone.

Hello

I have a 99 S80 2.9 with 164K miles. Exactly two years ago I got the transmission replaced with a new one at 114K miles. So the new transmission has 50K miles on it with now which are all highway miles. I am thinking of getting a transmission flush. But I have heard many rumors on this forum that flushing this kind of transmission is not a good idea. I want to know should I have it flush or would I be safer just having the transmission oil repalced (drain and fill).

I would have it flushed and topped with fresh fluid, just my opinion.

I drained, dropped the pan, replaced the filter, put back together, filled, then did the dilution method. It is a DIY job and you change out the filter as well as virtually all the fluid.

I would swap the fluid out. DO NOT power flush it.
The method described in many posts is the way to do it.
