new owner of s80
Bought a nice looking 2000 S80 2.9l
Previous owner had the timing belt break on him, took it to a garage and had the head removed. Piston in first cylinder has the ring seized in it so I'll be replacing that. Also have the new timing belt, tenshioner, and idler new with it.
Heres where I need your advice
1. Because the head and oil pan are removed how do I find TDC?
2. The cams are out of it, How do I check if they need replacing?
3. I never took this apart, will the haynes guide me back to a running car?
4. How do I check pistons for wear or ring replacement?
5. Any one of ya live in the North Carolina area looking on making a few extra bucks?
6. With the motor almost disasembled, what should I also be replacing and checking,,oil seals etc..
Thanks for the help in advanced. It's getting towed in tomorrow and I'll post pics of the motor head cylinders,,etc.
P.s paid $800 for it. and will cost me 125 for towing back so technically im in the hole 925. Has 122000 miles
