O2 sensor for S80
Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum. I own a 2001 s80 2.9L. I have had this car for 4 years and it is the best car I have ever had. Recently my check engine light came on. I got my S80 scanned and got the code ECM-2910 Front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S), bank 2 heating - signal missing. My local Volvo dealership quoted $680 to replace the sensor. I think I would like to attempt to replace it myself. I just don't know where "bank 2" is???
How hard is it to replace the part? It seems to be a simply screw in and plug in item...
Any advice from the Volvo community is very welcomed.

Thanks Mustang
I had a good look under the the hood last night. I think I know what sensor it is (but can't be certain). replacing the sensor would be easy but snaking the cable looks difficult. it looks to vanish into the firewall. My S80 is due for inspection in March so I need to repair it soon.

If you have some mechanical ability it is quite simple to replace these o2 sensors. You will have to get under the car and most likely drop the cat to get access. Unfortunately I can't tell you how exactly for the 2.9 as my main computer is down and i've only done it on a T6. I can tell you you will need an o2 sensor socket and the sensor. There are 4 sensors, 2 front and 2 rear. Can't remember which is which but one will be 5 wire and one will be 4 wire. Do a search on here and you will probably find my previous post . I bought mine off amazon or drivewire. Try them. if you only have to replace 1 sensor it shouldn't be more than a hundred odd dollars.
I replaced all 4 sensors and my catalytic converter for about $900 and about 2 hours, not bad when you consider volvo wants almost $3500 including labour!!
cheers!!

ECM-2910 is the front O2 sensor that is by cylinder 4,5,6. Under the hood, its the sensor you can see just below the brake resevoir.(Bank 2). You'll have to take off the driver front tire to help accessing the connections. Some say that this is the first sensor to fail as there is some correlation to a clogged oil trap. Take a look at that as well.
