Default Oil in Air Intake

My '02 S80 T6 turbos seem to be leaking oil by the seal since I'm finding oil in the air intake plumbing. My question is: is it a DIY job to replace the seal or am I looking at rebuilds oe specialist rebuilds? If I just leave it as is could I be causing other problems?

I discussed a similar situation with my mechanic. Two basic scenarios: oil leak into the exhaust/drive side of turbo can be bad for the CAT and can lead to premature death. Oil leak into the cold side is less of an issue as any oil that makes it past the cooler, intake manifold, and into the cylinders gets burned and you're left with some blue smoke out the tail pipe. He quoted me a rebuild job of about 1G for parts & labor.
