Oil change info?

Oil change info?
I just purchased a 2001 S80 w/ 11k miles. At this mjileage are there any maintenace items I would need to address right now? Also I would prefer to change the oil myself. Due to the skid plate is this possible? Other than removing the skid plate are there any special tools I might need to do this? If so could someone recommend an online merchant/retailer where these items could be purchased? Sorry if these questions are redundant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Oil change info?
You will need a special tool to remove the filter. Apparently there are several makes available but this one gets the best reviews:

Removing the skid plate is an easy job.

RE: Oil change info?
I was just about to say the same thing. If the car truly has 11,000 miles on it and it's 7 years old I would flush all the fluids and at least inspect the belts. Although at that age I would probably just replace the serpentine and timing belts. That's an insanely low mileage for an older car.
Did they reset the odometer on you? I don't know if that's even a possibility on these cars, but that just doesn't seem realistic?!?!?

Hello,
Wow, how comes it has such low miles. Just 11k miles for a7 year old car is kind of hard to believe. Also the timing belt probally will need to be replaced because of the fact that it is indeed made out of rubber so after 7 years it might have some cracks.

RE: Oil change info?
No it is 11,000. It was my brother's car. The story is he had a 2000 S80, brand new. Coming home from work on a uncontolled two lane highway going about 55 a car load of teens in a Chevy Impala wagon goes straight through a stop sign and hits him right behind the drivers door. Ripped the back end off the car. He sustained only bruises. The tropper couldn't believe he survived yet walked away. Long story short $30K in repair damages and his insurance company wanted him to have it fixed. He sued and got a new 2001 and then got a company car so this car was driven on weekends and never in the winter. It looks like it just came off the show room floor. It's to good of a deal to pass up.

Wow, that's a great deal!
I personally would change all fluids and belts, the belts may be overkill but I'd hate to have a 7 year old timing belt break and watch that sweet deal turn into a nightmare.
Fluids I would look into are transmission oil, engine oil, coolant, power steering (inspection), along with serpentine and timing belt. You may want to check your plugs and your vent box for the oil also. But that's just "preventative" stuff nothing more.
