oil leak, smoke s80 2.9 no turbo
Hi:
I have two things:
1) 2002 volvo s80 with significnat but mystery oil leak somewhere near the oil cooler on the back of the oil pan. Have cleaned things up but can't find where it could leak. Flex hoses coming into cooler carry coolant (right??), cooler interface is dry, can't find leak. but after cleanup, I drive it and it will be wet again.
2) park the car on an uphill slope and it smokes like crazy when started. Smloke comes out of tailpipe. What is that. Doesn't do it when parked on the flat or facing downhill.
Thanks

Did you ever find the solution? I have the exact same problem. I can clean it all up and drive it and there is no leak. Then I drive it in normal use and the leak is back. Any ideas?
Does ANYONE have any suggestions or ideas? The oil is all over the frame, but I cannot find the source. I just had the crankshaft seal replaced - that was NOT the problem.
ANY IDEAS????

I had similar issue right now and I am trying to tackle it but I don't have any leak except smoke. My mechanic said my O2 sensors were bad and my brother-in-law stated the same but he said that my car might have some oil leak from the turbo charger and I will have to replace it.
You might check on your turbo charger and your valves.
