Question Potential Volvo owner... S80 or S70?

Hello all,
Need a reliable car and have an option to get a S70 non-turbo with 67000 miles for $4k or an S80 T6 with 117k for $6k.
I need to get it right - which one is more reliable? I realize there are differences but overall... what is your opinion?
I don't mind getting dirty and I have access to a lift and tools so minor repairs will not be a problem. however, money for parts might be...
anyway, your thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
Nick

What year S80 is it? If its 2002 or newer i would recommend that...

Be sure to check the transmission fluid on either car before you buy..

The s70 was an one owner car, perfectly maintained.... it's a friend that's selling it and he is bit on the high end for a non-turbo model... but since he's a friend I can't really negotiate the price.
the s80 is being sold at a dealership
Just read the carfax and it's not very clear but it seems it has quite a few owners.. perhaps not a good "reliable" car

'01 S80 T6...bad choice, if it hasn't already happened you'll need transmission work on it. The transmissions on the early S80's, are weak, hook them up to the T6 and they are often a disaster.

Im sure you would rather have the t6, go to your closest volvo dealer with the vin check and see if they serviced the transmission at 54k and at 105k also timing belt should have been changed don't want to buy the car at that price and then spend another 800-2500 fixing it. Maybe you'll get lucky and the replaced the tranny.
