I am trying to fit a small GPS / Bluetooth Audio unit on top of the (unused) center speaker grille. I need a power connection for the unit (5v 2A). I have a small 12v > 5v (3 amps) converter that will fit in the space but I can't find an adjacent 12V supply. There is a connector inside this space that has 2 wires attached. There is no voltage on these wires. Looking at the wiring diagrams it appears that these cables go the amplifier under the RH seat. If this is correct I will disconnect the unused center speaker connection at the Amp and connect it to the 12V supply.
Can anybody confirm that these cables go to the Amp? Which AMP connector do they go to?
I decided to meter out the center speaker connections and found that they do go to amplifier as I suspected. I was able to cut the wires at the amp and splice them on to the power connector. Now I have 12v at the center speaker location and everything is neat and tidy.
