Unhappy Power Steering Rack

I just had to replace my Power Steering Rack and a hose because of a major leak. When I got it back today, I noticed that every time I push on the gas, I hear what sounds like a rain stick coming from the power steering area. This sound is constant even if I take my foot off the gas. So I am guessing that either an air hose is not put back on tightly or something else is wrong with it. This sound was not there yesterday, so I don't know what it is.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks!

You hear the noise from inside the car correct?
It sounds like air rushing in? Or like road noise?

If so look under the dash on the drivers side where the steering shaft goes through the floor. See if there is a metal collar that is kind of like just sliding up and down freely.
The collar is supposed to be in the rubber bushing in the floor. If they did not put it back in it will transfer alot of engine noise into the car.

Thanks Tech for answering!

Now that you say that... when I started my car in the parking garage I could hear everything coming from the engine compartment. So I think that it. Also I am getting a noise from right behind the steering wheel that sounds like something rubber rubbing up against metal or something needed to be oiled one of the two. I'll go an check the metal collar and report back.

You are amazing Tech! That is exactly what the problem is. Do you know how long it would take to get it fixed? Thanks a bunch you made my day because I was worried that it was going to be something major.

It should only take a few minutes for them to put it back.

But also have them look at the noise.
