Default putting gas into cS-80

I am unable to put gas into my 2000 S80 without it backing up. The only way fuel will enter is at a very slow flow; at full flow it backs up and over flows onto the ground. Anyone have any ideas?

I too have a 00 s80 T, and for the past 2 months I have been having the same problem. It was so random that I though it was the pump at the station. After going to another station I realized that I was having the same issue. The pump either shuts off or it backs up. Everything else seems to be fine. It just takes a very long time to fill a 20 gallon tank.

Im interested to hear any comments

That only happened to me once at a shell gas station when I left the pump on auto flow... otherwise I have never had the problem...

I read in another thread that this could be caused by the vent tube being blocked by spider webs and egg casings. Apparently if you look up under the fender you can see the tube, pull it apart, and then blow the clog out.

Also have any of you had the fuel pump replaced lately?

I've owned the car for just about a year and the fuel pump hasn't been replaced.
Is that something that should be changed every once in a while?

I had a friend who is pretty savy with fixing cars take a look under my car. He followed a line that was coming the gas tank to what he thought was the 'vent tube'. It was located near the left rear tire. He was able to disconnect one part but could not blow anything out, but he said it seemed like there was something lodged in there. The other end of the tubing was too far in and too tight to dsiconnect. Does this sound like the correct location of this vent tube that can get clogged by webs and spider eggs.

Thanks for the help
