Default Rear Oxygen Sensors 2003 - 17,000 miles

My check engine light recently came on. There is no change in the drivability of the vehicle or fuel consumption. After spending $129 to have the computer diagnosed at my Volvo dealership, I was informed of two problems. The invoice states, "DSGEN Recommended replacing both rear oxygen sensors and DSGEN recommended brake pedal position sensor." These repairs are quoted at $945 and $265, respectively. I've seen Bosch rear oxygen sensor replacements priced around $165 each so how can Volvo justify $600 for labor? Also, is it normal for two oxygen sensors to die after 17,000 miles? I was under the impression that the sensors have a lifetime expectancy of 100k miles. Is it possible that the parts could be covered under the emission control warranty?I purchased my 2003 S80new. This is very disappointing. Please advise.

No they aren't covered under the Emissions warranty.
The sensors go bad pretty often.
Usually if one goes bad the other isn't far behind.
The sensors from Volvo are more money then anywhere else.
It should be between 1 to 2 hours labor the exhaust has to be dropped in the front to replace the sensors.
