Default rear rotors

hello, guys. Im one of the lucky owners of 99 s80 since 2005, been dealing with lots of staff. After solving few problems on my own (abs/sts module has a cure -Victor Rocha !!! ) will try to fix some staff without "help" of a dialers . Got a question bout rear rotors and wheel bearing . How difficult is it to change them and what are the basic steps, tools (if any special ). thanks a lot.

Hi,

Sorry to say, but it made me laugh when I saw your 2nd post. There is a person, the top-dog of the forum, by the name of "Moderator Tech", but Tech is unable to come to the forum at the moment, otherwise he would have helped you within a day or two. However, since he cannot help right now, I decided to volunteer. Please note, that I'm an 850 driver and I usually do not go out of the 850 forum & general forums, because I don't know much about Volvos other than 850, have respect to other forums and hate just to jump in, even though there are cases I can help with general knowledge, for models other than 850.

Well, try the following links:

http://volvospeed.com/850rbrake1.php
http://volvospeed.com/Repair/40rearBrakes.php
http://volvospeed.com/maintenance.shtml#BrakesWheels

↑You could compare the pics to see if one of them is similar for the rear brake job.

Haynes' Service Manual:
http://www.amazon.com/Petrol-Diesel-...286&sr=1-4

Factory Manuals:
https://www.volvotechinfo.com/index....modelyear=1999

FCP Groton is a good parts resource:
http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo.htm#s80

Sorry but I could not find a service procedure for the rear brakes or the hub/bearing unit on S80. Wait a bit longer until someone replies, or until Tech comes home.

Best wishes,

JPN

thanks a lot, JPN. lots of good info but i managed to do it myself. it took me like an hour fifteen minutes from start to finish. as easy as undoing 14 bolts total from both sides, 13 mm, 17 mm and 10 mm sockets , hammer and a little beet of trust to my self. lets see whats next!
