Replacing Turbocharger on S80 2000 T6
#2
turbo replacement/service
I just serviced my turbo on a 2000 s80. Took me around 10 hours. The hardest part was when i re-installed the turbo. There is a oil tube which exits from the underside of the turbo and enters into the side of the block which then goes into the oil pan (i assume). I finally got fustrated after having another person there to guide the lower end into the hole which is impossible to locate without a mirror and alot of luck. I finally ended up cutting the tube, then slipping a rubber hose over the two cut ends and attaching with hose clamps (not an easy thing either). I think if I have to do that job again, i would certainly remove the exhaust manifold ( they apear to be 2 seperate manifolds). Good luck, if you have time and patients on your side.
PS......make sure and re-install new crush washers on the banjo connections.
