Unhappy S80 ABS/Brakes/Speedo/Tacho

I have an intermittent issue where I lose speedo, tacho, message says brakes failed and ABS light errors out. Plugged it into basic equipment gives error 0093 lean sensor, 0092 yaw rate sensor and 0095 comms to control unit.

Have found and cleaned one filthy plug but no joy. If I can't fix the ABS issue then a volvo is going to heaven and I'll be gutted as it is still in really good nick.

Any help gratefully received

Alex

It might just be the ABS module - check out BBA Reman for getting a replacement.

It's most likely your ABS Module

Disconnect the battery, wait a minute and reconnect. This will ususally "fix" the problem for a little while. You may go a week before it happens again BUT IT will happen again. Yeah, its probably the ABS module. Eventually, you will be disconnecting the battery every other day.

Thumbs up Thank you

Hi All

Many thanks for all of the replies. Hopefully the "fix" will get me through the MOT and my beloved Volvo will be good again. It sounds like I will need to replace the ABS unit and the garage is asking the question as to whether it is a "programmable unit". Basically they don't think they can reprogram it if it needs it. They are going to ID the specific unit in case some do and some don't need to be programmed. Anyone got any ideas as to the likely outcome?

Thanks

Alex

Make sure you have the radio code if you are going to disconnect the battery, unless you don't mind not having tunes. I'm actually in the process of figuring out what I'm going to do with my module, I guess there are some people who will remanufacture it for pretty cheap like: bba-reman.com What year and model is it?

Yes I'm looking at BBA-Reman, now known as ecu-testing, but they seem to send out an already repaired one and you send back the old one, hence the question of not knowing whether there were any settings on the old one that would need transferring

Volvo S80 S reg so 1998?

I think as long as it is the same Volvo and same options that the module has, there are no programmer settings you need to mess with.

You need the number off your current abs module. Use a mirror to read it instead of taking it off/on just to get that. They will send you one that does not need programming. Also get an e5 socket since you will need that to make the module swap.
