S80 Surging at Idle
If have a 2000 S80 2.9L that has developed a surging problem at idle.
After reading some of the post related to this problem, it seems fairly common for the model year.
I normally keep up on maintenance, but due to the “economic downturn”, I have been avoiding the dealership like the plague, so I didn’t immediately take the car in wen the problem first occurred.
From what I can determine, there was a recall for Volvos manufactured between 1998 and 2001 relating to the throttle body assembly, which the dealership should fix for free.
Does anyone know the when the “fix for free” period will end or ended. It looks to me that the recall happened somewhere around 2006. I purchased this car in 2007 and there was no mention of a recall at the time. I’d like to know if I’m still eligible for the fix.
