S80 T6 HP Improvements/Upgrades?
My father bought me an S80 for my first car, and I enjoy the ride very much. I'll say one thing straight out that I have a dire need to take of my belongings, which definitely includes my first car. It's an '04 T6 with only 62K on it.
I'd like to integrate performance parts under the hood to yield some decent improvements out of the car, so any reasonable recommendations that some of you experts know of that can give a solid boost to the car would be appreciated. Thanks!

1. ipd HD Ignition Coil with 103mm Insulator Boot
2. 2004 VOLVO S80 NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs 6418 - SummitRacing.com
3. Fuel Filter
(Plus spark plug wires, transmission oil change, oil change, and air filter change). That's about all I can find for a performance boost/refreshment for the car.
I was wondering though, (just making sure) are those spark plugs recommended for the S80 T6? Should I use synthetic oil for the S80 T6? What should I look for when considering buying transmission oil for the S80 T6? Also, by engine filter did you mean air filter? Lastly, what should I look for when considering buying spark plug wires for the S80 T6? Thanks a lot guys, I know this is the right place to get help for my S80!

Hey Hero, welcome to the forum.
Sad to say that the S80 being Volvo's flagship luxury car, not many easy options out there. You found iPd, they specialize in Volvo's and performance mods. Most people drive and mod the mid-level S60. If you have the title, you may want to pull a fast one and swap the car for a S60 R if you get the chance.
Engine filter, I'm sure he meant Air. You can also cruise Swedespeed.com and see what those guys are doing. Like I said, most mod the S60 so S80 mods will likely be extreme.

Thanks for the warm welcome rspi =]...
I understand that there are no spark plug wires (wasn't aware of the fact until ES6T pointed it out and I thought it through after seeing many pictures).
Mainly, I'd like to ask which type of autotrans fluid I should use? I've seen through many threads that there are some different answers, like 3309 specific ATF or Dexron VI. It'd be awesome if you can shed some light and tell me which tranny fluid I should use in my auto S80 T6.

Plus, do you know of any custom exhausts I could implement in my T6? I've done a lot of research around on websites and haven't found much info on custom exhaust systems or CAI's for that matter. Is this something I should take to my local muffler shop, or do you have any other recommendations? Thanks a lot..

not sure about the exhaust. But you can look up under S60 forums. Since S60 gets the sporty version and the R design. Not fare, the S80 should also get some vibe too.
As for the trans drain and fil, the only way to know it to actually do a drain, measure how much was drained out and then fill it with how much was drained. very simple. I havent done any drain so i no clue.
All i can say is drain, measure the drain and fill it up with equivalent

I completed the tranny drain & fill yesterday. It took 7 quarts to refill it properly, and It worked out great! I cleaned the area up in the pan and the magnetic filter too with my father, and we threw it back in along with a new filter. We poured in Valvoline Dexron VI (VV370). We changed the oil, and oil filter too. We poured in Valvoline SynPower 5W-30.
How often should I change this oil? Its full synthetic and we poured in the required 7.3 quarts from the manual.

nice..its always good to take some pictures and a small write up too jsut for someone else who would like to change the trans.
Doesn't the car has service reminders displayed. Mine does so i change it whenever there is reminder . or every 7,500 miles. Synthetic oils are good too. just stick with what ever oil you are using. Also if this is your 1st time with syn just keep an eye on any leaks in the engine. It happens rarely tho.
