when putting seafoam thru the pcv system, where abouts do i pour it?

 

you sure about using seafoam in a car like this? It really isnt reccomended and if you are high mileage can lead to all sorts of leak horrors...

 

have heard so many posts that ppl say it works great.
i need something that will clean the oil trap out without me taking the whole car apart and travelling 2 hours to a volvo dealership as no one locally will work on it.
any ideas would be great

Seafoam will not save an engine with a clogged PCV system. Seafoam is not an additive, but a cleaner. It is also not like those "engine flush" gimmicks that can destroy an older engine.

Seafoam should be used as part of your maint schedule. I use 500 miles before every oil change on my Volvo, Geo, and my Chevy. This is added 1/3 to the fuel tank, 1/3 to the engine oil, and the last 1/3 gets sucked through a vacuum line with the engine running. After it's all in, shut the engine off, wait 5 minutes, restart and go for a ride. 500 miles later, change the oil.

This will not clean gobs of engine sludge from a heavily gunked up engine, but it will keep carbon deposits from the valves, ring grooves, and other internals of the engine and when you do this regularly, the engine stays a lot cleaner.

My Geo Metro has a Suzuki 1.0L 3 cylinder engine that notorious for burning up exhaust valves, but the regular Seafoam treatments will prevent that. Well, stainless steel exhaust valves are also a bonus.

 

as far as i know the pcv system is not clogged. i know on my cavalier that it gets dirty real quick and dont want it to happen to the volvo.
when putting seafoam in with the oil and thru the intake what pipes do i feed it thru?

 

I've used seafoam for years in everything I own. In my 2 strokes, (weedeater, 4 wheeler and snowcat), I use it in the gas to keep it fresh, like Stabil. For mower, snowblower,Tahoe, boat, and my S80, i use it in the gas, and through a vacuum line. Once in a while in my oil before a change. On the S80 I pull the brake booster hose from the intake mainfold. Put a small funnel on it and pour 6oz or so slowly and shut the motor off for 10-15 mins. It will smoke like a son of a gun when you start it up. But it sure does a good job of cleaning the injectors and carbon deposits. Anytime I get idle fluctuation it clears it up right away.
