Seafoam help!
Hi everyone,
I tried Seafoam over the weekend, just poured 1/2 in the gas tank and 1/2 in the crankcase, I noticed a huge improvements on valve noise and smoother power. I am going to try the vacuum line method this coming weekend, I never done it before so I need your expert advice. I have a 85 740 Volvo with a non-turbo engine.
Which vacuum line should I pick?
Do I need any special tools to pull off the vacuum lines?
Any special tips for a newbie like myself.
Thank you in advance,
John

Hi, Tech:
Thanks for the quick reply...
Do I have to worry about the oxygen sensor, spark plugs and CAT if I use Seafoam via the vacuum line? I don't want to cause damage to my CAT because I just replaced it.

I haven't used it myself we use a Valve cleaner at work but use the Vaccum way and never have a problem.
I have heard of many people using it the Vaccum way on a lot of different ways and never any problems.

usually when I use our GM product at work, the only side effect we find would be a check engine light due to the missfire when used through the vacuum or sprayed through the throtle body.
no harm done though....

Tech,
Sorry to bother you again, I am going to try the vacuum method this weekend, can you tell me if this is the right vacuum line? I plan to disconnect the vacuum line and pour Seafoam into it, can you tell me how I should do it. Thanks a million.

You can use either the Big one or the small one.
But you need to slide another hose on there and then pour it in or use the hose and stick it in the cap and have it suck the Seafoam out while you Rev it up.
