Default Soft Brake Pedal - a Mystery on a 07 AWD V8

Hello All,
Brand New Here!
Please feel free to let me know if I'm out of the rules lane.

I started replacing struts all around and front control arms. While apart, I put new brake pads in and had rotors resurfaced. I completed the front end and at this point when I went to turn the car around to raise the rear, I drove a short distance and the pedal is soft or spongy yet the car still stops fine. I never cracked a line; just opened the fluid reservoir to push the caliper pistons back so the new pads would fit. There are no DTC codes no ABS warning light. Am I missing something?
Any thoughts?

did you bleed the brakes? You may need to use a power bleeder if there's some air up in the master.

We will probably do that. Still can't figure out how air got in? Will keep an eye out for leaks
Thank you
