Default solenoid location

I was wondering where the shift solenoid would be located in a Volvo S80 2.9 (2000), do you know who makes the transmission? are they imported?

The transmissions are GM transmissions.
You can buy parts from a Chevy or Caddy Dealer.

The sylinoids are located in the Transmission. Thereare three of them. Also Volvo Dealerships as well as other forign vehicles do not change the sylinoids but, replace the whole transmissiom. I am currently going through this and I have to be honest it sucks! All I know is that I watched my husband take apart the transmission to get to the sylinoids so I know that they are somewhere in the middle.
Take Care,
Jessica
