i have a 1999 volvo s80 with these issues: runs super hot temp gauge says its normal but standing next to the car your can feel the heat and the fenders your can fry an egg on them. opening the hood after running for a little bit it admits a ton of heat everything is very hot. my oil has been changed last month and they inspected the car saying its good to go.

second problem i have a leak under the dashboard on the passenger side. i have already inspected the window for cracks leaks and any other things that can cause this i have found nothing.

I have a check engine light and plan on investigating this further i have a cranks positioning sensor code and i have a hard start. this sensor can cause hard starting?

just some more to throw in here i have a service srs airbags and a check coolant. also there is a strange amount of heat that comes under the dashboard on driver and passenger and it can hit like 80-90 not comfortable at all.


any ideas on the actual problems?

 

First thing is no problem. The motor is suppose to get up to 200°, that's hot and it's hot outside. Second thing, you likely have a bad heater core. Smell the liquid and see if it smells like anti-freeze. If so, get it fix ASAP, like TODAY. Third, yes cam sensors usually stop a car from starting.Forth, your SRS is suppose to be checked every 5 or 10 years. The light could mean that you have a bad airbag. Not sure about your last heat problem.
