Question SRS Module

My daughter inherited a 2002 Volvo S80. Previous owner had pulled the SRS module and replaced it with a Module ending in PN: 254. Apparently that is the wrong module by part number. Volvo repair shop verified that SRS system has no hard faults in the seat belt safety system, and that if they had the original module, re-flashing it would be reasonable. However, replacing the module and re-flashing is $933.

I need a module of the right PN to start.

Getting CEM 1A52 Communications failure with SRS fault. SRS will not read on my scanner, and indicates parts are missing (hard faults) on VIDA.

What PN fits a 2002 Volvo S80 SN: YV1TS93DX22270262 ?

Default No parts are missing

Although VIDA code says the rear crash modules are missing, they are there and functional. Shop knows it is a module, but won't divulge part number. My daughter cannot afford $933.

If your VIN is actually YV1TS92D321270262, then it takes SRS control module #8645271 which we sell for $516.56

Default SRS Cost

$516 gets me what? Blank module, or module programmed?

rant>

Paul's Volvo of Richmond VA has me bent over a barrel on Volvos, and I cannot find a repair shop better. They wanted $933 for module, installation and VIDA update. Today it is $999.95.

I replaced the module with one that match serial number range. I can read it with my scanner, now, but on manual SRS diagnosis, it says the SRS is from a S-60, not a S-80. They will not re-flash because the serial number data is not a match. The module is the PN you gave. to a TEE.

I took my wife's Volvo to them, for a power problem, $1743 later, I still have the same problem. I am fixing it myself. All they want to do is park it in a bay, plug in and then ask for fantastic price to fix. Then don't. I drove the car 10 miles and it kicked all the same codes. The problem on this car is fuel lines. I went to the salvage yard, got lines from tank to motor, as the ones on it are crimped at the tank. It is starving for fuel. They knew the problem, but didn't replace. Like that commercial with the guy at the Dental-monitor. You have a problem, we don't fix things.. RANT.

Apparently Volvo repair shops want these things junked.

Now they put an inspection reject on my daughters car, for SRS, brake lines rubber aged, and other stuff. however. If I gave them about $2200, it would be fixed. No way. Actually, this car drives wonderfully. After the episode with my wife's Volvo on power, I do not trust them.

FRUSTRATED IN VA.

Default Guess I am Junking it

I have had it. I sold my wife's Volvo. After $1800 to fix the problem low power fuel problem, it is still there. I ran smooth, had 26.3 MPG showing on the meter at trade, so I cleared the codes and traded it for a Mercedes.

Guess I am going to junk this 2002 Volvo. It is a shame. It runs great, drives good, but $1000 more for SRS, with sunk cost totaling $400. Forget it. New tires, and so much more. But I will not be ripped off more.

I keep getting offers for SRS but they come either not programmed or will not clear the code. No matter which way I look, the shop will only fix it with a new SRS module.
