Default Stalls and then won't start

On the 1st after driving approx 25-30 miles , 2000 s80 T6 stalled and would not restart, cranked over fine. Acted like it was not getting any fuel. A good guy towed me into a parking lot. The next day,I walked back to it and it started right up. The same thing happened on the 10th, while waiting for a tow truck , it started after waiting 90 minutes. Fuel filter was replaced last fall. Any ideas . TIA.

sounds stupid - but does it have fuel in the tank? The sending units do sometimes lie. If it does have fuel in the tank - I would suspect the fuel pump then - IF it has spark that is. Usually it throws a check engine light although if it does not have spark.

Yea ,,had fuel. The first time I had 3/4 of a tank. On the 2nd I topped it off. Just made a few short errands ,until the 10th. MY check engine light is on.

sounds like it could be one of three things impacting fuel delivery - fuel pump relay (over heats and cuts out, cools and works again), fuel pump (wearing out, drawing too much current and may cause the relay to cut out - if replacing the relay fixes you up, expect to replace the fuel pump shortly), fuel pressure sensor (or regulator - not sure whether your model has a regulator or not). I'd start by replacing the relay (easy DIY - a $50 part), then plan on replacing the pump in the near future.
