Default T6 question

I just read about all the changes to 2006 models. I noticed that they are not making the T6 V6 2.9 engine. Anyone know why? Did they have problems with this engine?

Thanks.

The S80 was an inline 6.
I think they are replacing it with the V-8.

Wolpers, read my posting of 22 june under "general forum" and you will find what the next engine is for the S-80. No v-8...it will be an inline six that will be 'awsome'.

I heard they were going to be putting the V-8 in the S80's as well. They put it in the XC90 first to see how it went.

Tech, Greg Kable has the inside on the S-80................you ought to see the photos of it..............radically different from the "Shoe Box" design of the 850's and worlds different from the current S-80. The engine is incredibly powerful...............350 h.p. to date!! The new S-80 is due out in June 2006 and will be sold as a 2007 model. The engine is known internally (Volvo) as the S16. I am truly excited about what Volvo is doing to get out of the doldrums that they got themselves into when they called themselves the 'safe' auto......................they truly have something more to offer! Lastly, the 350 horse engine will have variable cam timing on BOTH the intake and exhaust valves!!! The 3.2 liter engine will have normal aspiration but still have variable cam timing on the intake side. Once again..........the performance engines will be akin to the 5 cylinder engines.............the turbo will be 3.0 liter.

That is about 75 miles one way.A buddy of mine is the service manager there but a little to far.
The closer dealer wasn't happy with the way I had left the other dealer so he really doesn't want to hire me.
I really want to go back to the dealer that is really asll I know.

I mean I can work on anything but Volvo is what I really know.
