I am changing T-belt, tensioner and idler. I am having difficulty finding timing mark on the Intake pulley. Can it be on the back side of pulley shaped like a U. The front side of pulley smooth as baby's butt, but will look more carefully. This is a Volvo S80 2001, 2.9. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

No, the marks are on the front of both.

Found it. Thanks, I would have used the back side U shape and really messed things up. Volvo did not go out of their way to make obvious marks. This guy is a dash hardly bigger than a period

 

You can get a file and make them a little better. A lot of people paint them or use white out paper correction but that can rub off easier.

 

OK, got this S80 back together and after several tries it started. Runs a little rough and knocks, but going. This car has 225,000 miles on it. Son-in-law does not want to put a bunch of money into it. If I do nothing else but Timing belt and pulleys, how far down the road do I dare drive, never mind how fast?
