timing belt changed?
i took my 99 s80 t6 w/ 94000 miles to my volvo dealer to have some work done and he said a timing belt needed to be changed and it was going to be about 800 bucks. Is it really that expensive and about how long do i have left?
Did that price only take care of the belt or are they also replacing something else along with it? "Tech" has mentioned that its standard protocol for them to replace the water pump too if I recall correctly.
Price sounds about right for a 105k service, which includes a new t-belt. Our dealership ALWAYS sells new idlers and tensioners when we do a t-belt. If you are just doing a t-belt and no service it should be substantially cheaper. Have them break the price down for you.
