Default Took my car to the dealership for ETM replacement today!

So they checked the car out, and after about an hour came back with all these graphs and printouts...

They tried just cleaning it and downloading some software update and that obviously didn't work so now they are ordering a new throttle.

They said they have to get approval first so it can take a week or two to get the part in.

Is there any reason it won't get approved? Timeline they showed my VIN good for 200,000 miles or March 2010.

The tech said to the other tech as they were walking in from the garage "Oh yeah, this one's real bad, it definitely needs a new one." SO I'm hoping there won't be any issue.

Is there any other updates that they should download while I'm at it? I'm having them disable the daytime running lights, but were there any other "major" software releases for the car?

Thanks guys!
Jonathan

So I had the ETM replaced yesterday along with the software download.

This sounds really stupid, but its the small things in life you appreciate, like being able to press the throttle down 25% and it actually move the car!

It used to be embarrassing to ride with family and friends in my car because the throttle made a god awful clanking noise and it surged HORRIBLY. Was really bad on the highway with the cruise on and after 30 minutes of driving and the engine was good and warm, I would have to press the throttle down all the way almost until the "kickdown" switch to get the throttle to open. Not a pleasant ride.

Now its as smooth as glass. SO MUCH more of an enjoyable car to drive now.

Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH VolvoForums for alerting me to this warranty service. I would have NEVER known.
