Sorry, it's me again. Only had my S80 (2000) for a week and it has driven like a dream,until tonght. I filled up the screen wash this afternoon and noticed that the air intake at the front of the car was disconnected so I put it back on. Drove the car tonight and it was fine for 6 miles then started to surge on low revs. Switched off and restarted and on idle the revs go up and down as if I were operating the accelarator but no misfiring.

Could this be related to my refitting the air intake or is it something else. I think I read somewher about a recall related to the throttle

 

Been to Volvo today, they have cleared all of the error codes with the exception of 'Alarm fault' and they have upgraded the software and cleaned the ETM. Total cost £144. They tell me that the cleaning of the ETM etc cures 75% but that this is the first step to take. If this does not solve the problem a new ETM is required. I asked for the price of a new ETM and was told that they were best part of £500 but now they are half that price. I'll wait and see how it goes

 

Hopefully the cleaning fixes it.
