Variable Valve Timing diagram of the S80?
No, just wondering how it works in case I wanted to tune the cam timing. Honda's "VTEC" uses a shaft to engage one pair of valves at certain times. I was thinking this may be something similar. I have the info now and see it is quite different. It just isnt Variable Valve, the word "Timing" is literal. If you could find a programmer that could fully program this function you could get significant performance increase. But at stock, it is tuned for economy.
Yeah, and some guy on this other site keeps arguing with me about it. Trying to tell me that there were a lot of aftermarket ECUs that I could use. I narrowed his list down to 3, which 2 of them were UK brands I have never heard of, and the other is MOTEC. I dunno' if any will allow the use of the stock gauges.
Have you tried them?
Thats the chip I have in my R.

A chip is no where near what I was looking for in performance. IPD's are way to expensive for what they do. You should be able to buy a fully functional programmer for this car, not just a flash tuner (like IPD's). For some reason no one has made one available for the public.
