Default Volvo s80 Limp mode, where to start?

sorry for the image being rotated.
but there are a few fault codes stored.

the car is a Volvo S80 benzine from 1999 automatic.

When I drive for a longer period the car shifts reasonably fine. But in the beginning the car does not have power and it feels like it’s in 4th gear when i try to accelerate.

thanks in advance.

You do realize if you click on a code Vida will switch to a page with more info, and possible causes of the code, and diagnostic procedures?

You have multiple ABS communication codes - the vehicle speed signal comes from the ABS module and a common failure is cracked solder joints inside the ABS module -

but that doesn’t make sens that the gearbox will drive faulty.

it feels like when ever faults come. The car thinks it needs to be in 4th gear for some reason and if I let go of the brake and push gas it almost goes off or it has zero power.

there are moments like now I drive 400km in one go and it doesn’t do anything weird. It shifts and drives normal.

What engine is your car fitted with? (the 6 cyl is fitted with the known to fail early General Motors transmission - mine (in a 2004 xc90t6) failed at 18,000 miles!,)

You do realise that Vida was so wrong. It ended up being the ABS control module.

Which OBD scanner is this? Mine is in LIMP mode and I like to get more details. The OBD I have doesn't give me enough information.

The screen shot above is from VIDA. Looks like It's from the easy to find for free copy of 2014d found on the internet. You will need a compatible DICE unit or a compatible J2534 cable to interface between the car and the PC you have the VIDA program loaded on also.
