Wheel hub ?'s from a newbie!
First, hello and what a great looking website. I seached the boards for these questions and found a couple of great write-ups that I will use to assist me in replacing the wheel hubs. I'm working from a couple resource manuals, chiltons and alldata diy online manual. ? 1) when installing the driveshaft into the hub alldata calls for a 3-4mm bead of anaerobic adhesive p/n 1161370-0( metal adhesive ). I called the dealer, 60 bucks a tube Is this some type of locktite? If so anyone have any suggestions on whick one? 2nd?) When reinstalling the axle nut the book calls out for tool 5461 or equivalent to counterhold the hub while applying torque. Where can I find such a tool? Can i get it as tight as I can and put the wheel on and lower the car to put just enough weight on it to stop the wheel from turning?
Thanks in advance!!
Thanks in advance!!

Thanks, I saw that post and it is a nice write up. It is better than thealldata write up I have. However it does not address my questions.

On my car (admitted somewhat different than yours, but this still might work), I assembled the brake disc (make sure you put the wheel bolts in the hub to hold the torque) and caliper, then had someone step on the brake while I torqued down the axle bolt.

RE: Wheel hub ?'s from a newbie!
I have a 2000 Volvo S80 and replaced a front left side wheel hub in 2007. My car had hub bolt that attached the hub to the axle. When removing and installing the bolt, I had the wheel on and resting on the ground, just as you said. I don't know if you have the same bolt, but the dealer told me to torque to bolt to the following requirements: Stage 1 - 26 ft-lbs, Stage 2 - +90-degrees. I did exactly what vegasjetskier stated concerning applying antiseize to the spline. I also referred to the same write-up that vegasjetskier mentions below.
By the way, I was told to get a new hub bolt which had lock-tite applied to threads. Cost only $1.80 from local dealer. Purchase Timken wheel hub from AutoPartsWarehouse.com at a cost of $135.04.
Good luck.
