Wierd Transmission issue
I have a 2001 S80 non turbo that is shifting funny between first and second. This happens VERY sporadically and will go days and weeks at a time and never do it. If it does do it, it may happen once during a driving session and not happen again. What seems to happen is the car accelerates in first and kind of goes into neutral, the engine revs and it goes into second and shifts fine after that. I notice two main factors that contribute to this activity. If the car is not fully warm the first time I try and drive it will do it. Also if I’ve been on the interstate or highway, when I finally stop and start from a stop it will do it. In stop and go traffic it doesn’t do it at all. I know this is real strange but I was hoping there would be some similar experiences that could shed some light on what this is.
