Arrow Electronic modules and thunderstorms

Who else has experienced windows going down when a thunderstorm was brewing overhead? this happened twice over a period of a year to our 2028 V90 , parked on our driveway in Mclean VA, the second time with nasty consequences with rain falling at 5 inches in one hour. The electronics have gone crazy, the car is unusable and enforcing the warranty will be a struggle. It has happened on older XC90. Can electromagnetic radiations affect this Chinese made modules?

Not sure why you think enforcing the warranty will be a struggle, this is not normal behavior. Also there's nothing special about electronic modules being made in China or wherever. Thinking about thunderstorms there's static electricity in the air and there's RF noise (ever listen to AM radio during a thunderstorm?). Either one of these could point to a faulty ground or a failed capacitor (which acts as a filter for impulse noise) so I'd think you'd have a solid claim to get the dealer's service manager involved.
